Bulma is a bright, energetic, boy-crazy, pretty(and she knows it), 16 year-old girl.  She's also a bit spoiled and has a fierce temper, this along with a slight mean streak helps her to get what she wants.  As well as keep some of the strongest people on the planet in fear of her.  Her name means "bloomers", which Goku finds hilarious.  Bulma is the creator of the Dragon Radar, which is used to track down the Dragon Balls.  She meets Goku while searching for the Dragon Balls.  When she learns that Goku has one, she tries to "convince" him to give it to her.  Failing that, she decides to bring him along as a bodyguard.   She also begins an on-again off-again relationship with Yamcha which lasts for the next 13-14 years.  At the end of DB she's 22.  Her parents are very strange.  Her father is an eccentric inventor.  He is the creator Hoi Poi Capsules, which are capable of holding things like houses, bikes, cars, or even just a change of clothes all in a tiny capsule about 4 in. long and 1 in. wide.  He is also founder of Hoi Poi Capsule Corporation (later shortened to Capsule Corp.).  Her mother is bubbly, friendly, and a bit scatter-brained.
